I received my PhD in Theoretical and Applied Mechanics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, under the supervision of Prof. Jonathan B. Freund. My dissertation primarily focuses on the sensitivity and gradient-based optimization in chaotic nonlinear dynamics, ranging from plasma particle kinetics to turbulent flow control. Here in PECOS, I am working on uncertainty quantification of collision cross sections and plasma modeling for simulation prediction of inductively-coupled plasma torch.
