Matteo Croci


Matteo holds a BSc in Mathematical Engineering from Politecnico di Milano (Italy), an MSc in Mathematical Modelling and Scientific Computing from the University of Oxford (UK), and a DPhil (PhD) in Applied Mathematics from the University of Oxford, which he obtained under the supervision of Michael B. Giles (Oxford), Patrick E. Farrell (Oxford), and Marie E Rognes (Simula Research Laboratory). From 2019 to 2021 Matteo worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Oxford, working with Michael B. Giles. As of October 2021, Matteo is a postdoctoral researcher at the Oden Institute working with Robert Moser and Karen Willcox.

Matteo works within the fields of computational stochastics, uncertainty quantification and industrial mathematics, with a focus on multilevel (quasi-) Monte Carlo methods, high performance computing, mixed- and reduced-precision computing, partial differential equations with random coefficients and the finite element method. Matteo’s research interests also include brain modelling, biomedical computing and deflation techniques for variational inequalities.
